Before I became a Personal Trainer, I was actually overweight and very unhealthy. I had no direction, and my lifestyle was taking a serious toll on my body and mind. With the support of a good mate and a lot of hard work, I turned things around—and entered into the fitness industry in 2005 as a business owner.
I was passionate about helping others transform their lives too. But not long into my career, I found myself battling a series of injuries—mostly from rugby, snowboarding, basketball and surfing. That wake-up call made me realise there was much more to true health than just training hard and being lean.
Surgeons recommended invasive procedures, but I instinctively knew there had to be a better way. I chose to explore how the body could heal itself naturally, from the inside out.
Finding the path out of my own pain was an amazing learning experience. From something seemingly bad, came something great.
Instead of going under the knife, I committed to learning how to support the body in healing itself. I studied movement systems like yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, Tien Kun, and Yi jin Jing. Each offering methods to strengthen tendons, unlock flow, and deepen body awareness.
I trained in massage and dry needling to release pain and stored tension. I also studied strength and conditioning to reinforce the structure and resilience of tendons and joints. Together, these practices reshaped not only my body but my entire approach to health, healing and life.
From this journey, the Tension Free Body system was born. It’s been tested, refined and proven through my own body and lived experience.
This method brings together ancient wisdom and modern science to help people release blockages, move better, and return to a natural, tension-free state of health and performance.
Because I’ve been unhealthy and overweight. I've ben injured and recovered. I can happily share the path out of pain and restriction. Reconnecting with the body, and learning to move in a wise way ripples out to all avenues of our existence. Healing the body, calms and centres the emotions and mind too, allowing for the whole being to be in harmony.
